We believe that every Registered Psychotherapist needs to have a voice, along with a place to go to for information, connection and support. AdvocacyWe are a professional voice on issues that affect your practice.OSRP represents the interests of psychotherapists with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, with insurance companies, and with various levels of government. We advocate on issues that benefit and impact Registered Psychotherapists as a whole. We were instrumental in bringing the GST/HST exemption issue to national prominence in our partnership with PRPA and the Tax Free Therapy Coalition. We are driven to keep working in solidarity with other provincial and national groups as a strong collective voice for the profession. We also advocate with the CRPO on behalf of our members. We have a strong, cooperative relationship with the CRPO to discuss matters that have an impact on our RPs. Support

OSRP publicly promotes psychotherapy concepts and principles to educate the public and build trust and awareness. By helping prospective clients understand the unique benefits of psychotherapy while reducing the stigma of mental illness, we encourage new business for our members. |
The Association offers four membership categories:Clinical MemberA Clinical Member shall be a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Psychotherapist (Temporary) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Qualifying MemberA Qualifying Member shall be a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Student MemberA Student Member shall be registered in an education and training program recognized by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario https://www.crpo.ca/recognized-accepted-programs/ Friend of the SocietyFriends of the Society shall be individuals interested in helping professions in the wider community who wish to be affiliated with the Society and are approved by the Executive Committee. |
It is mandatory for OSRP members to report to the OSRP any and all complaints to the CRPO made against the member. If a complaint has been made against you, please contact us as soon as possible so we may offer you support through this process. A complaint does not jeopardize your membership at the OSRP, nor your insurance if it is through McFarlan Rowlands on the OSRP's professional liability insurance program.
